So, I was walking to my dorm from class, and I heard this HUGE crash...like, a sickening crash. Next thing I know, I'm being hearded away from the building, away from Bolyston St (which is where all my school classes, dorms, etc are located). Everyone thought it was a bomb. Turns out the new dorm they're building for Emerson down the street had an accident. A piece of scaffolding fell from the building...like 13 stories up, and crashed onto the busy street below, completely crushing cars below...like, flattening them to pancakes. At least 3 people were killed, and several more injured. It was incredibly scary. The images that I (and probably everyone else here) saw were gruesome.
My mom called me, because apparently Emerson was all over CNN, and all they showed was Emerson and collapsed pieces of building and smashed cars. My mom actually thought I was IN the building that fell apart...but rather it's the building right next to me.
Boylston is still closed off, I still can't get into my dorm from the front entrance...and there is general chaos here. Cops everywhere, classes cancelled...they wouldn't even let us use the elevators in my classroom building.
Yea so...pretty scary.

There's a CNN article...although it doesn't show the worst smashed car. Kinda gruesome.
And now the dorm might not open this fall...leaving almost 50% of Emerson on-campus kids without housing.
